Dogo Onsen, said to be the oldest hot spring in Japan, can be reached in about two hours from Hiroshima Port by high-speed ship and bus . If you take a ferry and a bus, it takes about 3 hours and 40 minutes; some of the ferry services are operated by a comfortable ferry called "SEA PASEO". It carries you to Ehime Prefecture in the Shikoku Region as if you were enjoying the wide Setonaikai (=Seto Inland Sea) National Park from a park on a ship. There is a space where you can lie down and relax, and also a space where you can enjoy chatting like in a café. (Café is not operated.) If you have enough time, I would recommend you to take ferry. The team is so loved by the locals that many people who come to Hiroshima for work from other parts of Japan express that the people in Hiroshima spend a large percentage of their lives with the Carp. You are lucky if you are in Hiroshima on Wednesday night. It is because you can see Kagura , one of Hiroshima's representative Traditional Performing Arts, in the downtown area of Hiroshima City. But what is Kagura then? Click here ( Kagura Monzen Touji Village ) Originally, Kagura was performed at local shrines after rice planting or harvesting, but now it is performed once a week on Wednesday nights in the center of Hiroshima City so that people who come from all over the world can see this enjoyable traditional performance.
