[For Groups of 10-40] Exciting program along SDGs for Team building

This program allows you to move your body in the fresh air in the deep mountain and achieve the team building, as well as contribute effort to solve the regional issues in Hiroshima.

Strongly recognizing that we, ourselves, are also part of the nature, let’s learn about it, and strengthen your teamwork, while circulating the works of nature.

We are sure that its experience should be a strong encouragement in your daily life after that.

In this program, we mainly ask you to help doing “Tree Thinning” to create a rich forest by cutting trees that are unnecessary or better to be out.
To cut down a tree safely, you must work under meticulous calculations and ordered rules. Above all, at the moment of a dangerous that a tree fallen, accurate communication with buddy is indispensable.

In the quiet mountains, the signals between teams are echoing. And the moment when a big tree of 7 m or more makes a noise and collapses while making a wind, is masterpiece.

Why is this “Tree Thinning” needed, by the way?

Fresh air is indispensable for human life. And it is the trees in the mountains that generate that fresh air.

Those trees are able to create a continuous natural cycle by getting thinned out appropriately.

Keeping enough space around the straight tree allows it to reserve the sun light and grow. In addition, in the land where leaves fall, it is possible to maintain an ecosystem in which microorganisms live, insects live, and animals live.

Also, healthy land can store rainwater well and plays a major role as a green dam. And the rainwater that has passed through this land contains nutrients and consequently it leads to the creation of a rich sea. Hiroshima's oysters, which boast the highest production in Japan, are supported by these mountains.

At certain time, national policy had focused on planting trees, but the decline of industry and depopulation has led to the abandoned forests being destroying the natural ecosystem. Let's work together on local issues through thinning work to protect the local area from animal damage and disasters.

While in this activity, you will notice yourself, being right in the process to the Sustainable Development Goals.

And after going through the hard work with your mates, will you get a great sense of accomplishment.

Break down stereotypes! This is the TRANSPARENT INCINERATION PLANT.

Who can believe that this building is an incineration plant? But it really is. This modern architecture is actually an incineration plant of Hiroshima city, designed by Architect Yoshio Taniguchi who also designed MoMA’s new building. In the center of this building is there a tunnel-shaped transparent passage called "Ecolium"; in other words, you can stand in the middle of this factory and look out over the factory. Please make a challenge how “Instagramable” picture you can take. Ecolium is open from 9:00AM through 4:30PM every day! At the end, you will see the wide view of calm Seto Inland Sea, with this huge and modern architecture on your behind! Take steps down to the ground outside and see the sea and park with greenery and take a walk around. During weekdays, from Monday through Friday, you can also go up to the 6th floor (the entrance is on the 1st floor of the building), a really nice viewing gallery must be seen. Of course, this is all free of charge...

Your hotel like a home from home in Miyajima

This is one of the few Western-style hotels in Miyajima Island with Japanese touches. While the rooms have the classic bed style, you can take off your shoes in the style of a Japanese house and relax on the wooden floor. When you arrive at Miyajima and walk out of the ferry terminal, the brown building you see on your left is the Miyajima Villa. It welcomes guests at the entrance to Miyajima. Leave your heavy luggage behind at the hotel as soon as you arrive at the island, and head out for sightseeing lightly. Needless to say, Miyajima is a tourist destination registered as a World Heritage Site, and there is not enough time to enjoy all of the historical buildings, nature, shopping, and gourmet food, but there is also plenty of hospitality for guests to have a special time at this Miyajima villa. Feature 1: Bath with tatami mats Feature 2: Restaurants with locally produced and consumed food Feature 3: A special venue for guests Feature 4: Stay i...
